Curriculum vitae
- Thomas Mayer is the founding director of the Flossbach von Storch Research Institute and was head of the institute until November 2024.
- From January 2010 to June 2014, Thomas Mayer was an advisor and chief economist at Deutsche Bank Group and head of Deutsche Bank Research.
- From 2002 to 2009, he was Chief European Economist and Co-Head of Global Economics at Deutsche Bank in London.
- Prior to that, Thomas Mayer worked for Goldman Sachs (1991-2002) and Salomon Brothers (1990-1991) in London and Frankfurt.
- Before moving into the private sector, he held various positions at the International Monetary Fund in Washington (1983-1990) and at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy (1978-82).
- Thomas Mayer received his doctorate from Christian Albrecht University in Kiel in 1982 and has held the CFA Charter from the CFA Institute since 2002.
- He has been an honorary professor at Witten/Herdecke University since 2015.
- Thomas Mayer has published numerous articles on international and European economic issues in specialist journals and has authored several books.
