Secession in the European Union

Secessions from the EU and secessions within individual EU states are likely to further exacerbate the crisis in the EU.

In view of this situation, the European centralisation projects of EU Commission President Juncker and French President Macron are counterproductive. The urge for centralisation in the EU emanates from the national governments of the EU member states, which use the EU's given institutional arrangement to emancipate themselves from their national parliaments.
